Overview & Highlights
The Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) is unlike any museum on earth. Located just 2 kilometres from the Giza Pyramids, this extraordinary new institution spans 490,000 square metres and houses over 100,000 artefacts from ancient Egypt — including the most complete collection of Tutankhamun’s treasures ever assembled, with many pieces displayed publicly for the very first time.
Designed by the renowned architectural firm Heneghan Peng, the GEM’s translucent stone facade glows in the desert sun, framing a dramatic view of the Pyramids beyond. Inside, visitors move through themed galleries presenting ancient Egypt chronologically — from pre-dynastic times through to the late period — alongside dedicated exhibition halls for royal artefacts, monumental statuary, and Tutankhamun’s chamber.
The Tutankhamun Gallery alone contains over 5,000 objects from the boy pharaoh’s tomb, including his famous golden death mask, innermost coffin, gilded throne, alabaster canopic jars, and the 143-piece diadem collection. Many of these artefacts have never before left the Egyptian Museum in Cairo — seeing them in the GEM’s purpose-built galleries is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
This private day tour includes your licensed guide, transport, and entrance tickets for a completely immersive visit.

Trip of a lifetime
From the pyramids at Giza to the temples of Luxor, every day was perfectly organised. Our guide was knowledgeable, warm and made sure we never felt rushed. Highly recommend Egyptian Trips.
Seamless from start to finish
Booking was easy, the driver was always on time, and the hotels were excellent. The Nile cruise was the highlight of our holiday. We will be back for the desert tour next year.
Knowledgeable guides, no hidden costs
Everything was exactly as described. Our Egyptologist brought the history to life and the whole team was responsive on WhatsApp throughout the trip. Five stars well deserved.
Better than we imagined
A truly authentic experience. The food, the people and the sites all exceeded our expectations. Special thanks to the team for handling every detail so we could just enjoy Egypt.
Felt safe and looked after
As two women travelling alone we felt completely safe and cared for the entire time. The itinerary balanced sightseeing with rest perfectly. Cannot recommend them enough.
Outstanding value
Great communication before the trip and flawless execution once we arrived. Abu Simbel at sunrise was unforgettable. Thank you Egyptian Trips for a wonderful week.
