After breakfast, meet your private EgyptianTrips Egyptologist guide and begin your exploration of the highlights of your Egypt tour with a visit to the legendary Giza Pyramids Complex.
The Giza Plateau is home to the three great pyramids, the Great Sphinx, the Valley Temple, and several smaller pyramids and ancient structures. Built thousands of years ago, the complex remains one of the world's most important archaeological sites.
The Great Pyramid of Khufu
Your first major monument will be the Great Pyramid of King Khufu, the largest pyramid at Giza and the only surviving wonder of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
Your EgyptianTrips Egyptologist will explain the history of Khufu's pyramid, its construction, and the engineering techniques used by the ancient Egyptians. You will also learn about its internal chambers and passages, including the King's Chamber, Queen's Chamber, and Grand Gallery.
The Great Sphinx
Continue to the Great Sphinx, one of the most recognizable monuments in Egypt.
The enormous statue combines the body of a lion with a human head and is traditionally associated with Pharaoh Khafre. Carved from the natural limestone bedrock, the Sphinx has watched over the Giza Plateau for thousands of years.
Your guide will explain the monument's symbolism, history, and connection to the surrounding royal complex.
Valley Temple
Next, visit the Valley Temple, an important part of Khafre's funerary complex.
The temple was used for purification and mummification rituals connected with the royal burial process. Its impressive limestone and granite construction provides an excellent example of the craftsmanship and building techniques of ancient Egypt.
Grand Egyptian Museum
Continue to the Grand Egyptian Museum, located near the Giza Pyramids.
The museum houses an extensive collection covering thousands of years of Egyptian history and combines ancient treasures with modern architecture and exhibition spaces.
During your visit, you will see remarkable archaeological treasures, including the Hanging Obelisk and the monumental statue of Ramses II. The museum also presents an extensive collection of artifacts associated with Tutankhamun.
Lunch
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant offering views of the pyramids or the Nile before continuing your sightseeing.
Saqqara Step Pyramid
After lunch, drive to Saqqara, one of Egypt's most important ancient necropolises.
Here, you will visit the Step Pyramid of Djoser, widely regarded as one of the earliest large-scale monuments built entirely from cut stone.
Designed by the brilliant architect Imhotep for Pharaoh Djoser, the pyramid introduced a revolutionary stepped design and represents an important stage in the development of pyramid architecture.
Your EgyptianTrips Egyptologist will explain the history of Djoser's funerary complex and the importance of Saqqara in the development of ancient Egyptian monumental architecture.

Aswan High Dam
Your first stop will be the Aswan High Dam, one of Egypt's major modern engineering projects.
Built during the 1960s and completed in 1970, the High Dam played an important role in controlling the Nile's annual flooding and supporting Egypt's water supply, agriculture, and electricity generation.
Your guide will explain the dam's history and its importance to modern Egypt.
Unfinished Obelisk
Continue to the Unfinished Obelisk, located in an ancient granite quarry.
This enormous unfinished monument provides a fascinating look at how ancient Egyptian craftsmen carved and shaped massive stone monuments. Your EgyptianTrips Egyptologist will explain the techniques used by ancient workers and why the obelisk was abandoned after a crack appeared in the stone.
Philae Temple
Next, visit the beautiful Philae Temple, dedicated primarily to the goddess Isis and closely associated with the ancient Egyptian Myth of Osiris.
The temple complex was originally located on Philae Island before being relocated to nearby Agilkia Island during the UNESCO-led Nubian campaign to protect it from the rising waters created by the construction of the Aswan High Dam.
The temple's beautifully preserved reliefs, columns, and sanctuaries make it one of Aswan's most memorable ancient sites.
